New leader of second richest UK research council expected to be in place by September
The UK government has advertised for a new head of the Medical Research Council as a permanent replacement for Fiona Watt, who left the council in January.
The MRC is currently led by interim executive chair John Iredale. Watt left the MRC under a cloud having been at the centre of a bullying investigation, revealed by Research Professional News, that culminated in her apologising for how she treated staff at the funder.
