Research council chief calls for transparency over UKRI-led initiatives and sustained funding after GCRF closure

The national research funding agency, UK Research and Innovation, has become a lightning rod for criticism due to being “pretty close to government”, according to one of its senior figures.

Duncan Wingham, executive chair of the Natural Environment Research Council, was speaking at a House of Lords Science and Technology select committee hearing on 29 March.
