Chief executive says funder is “working hard to deliver on our responsibilities”
UK Research and Innovation says it is “working hard” to drive change after a group of leading fellows warned that talented academics were leaving higher education due to poor working conditions.
In a letter sent last week to UKRI chief executive Ottoline Leyser and chair Andrew Mackenzie, more than 100 researchers awarded UKRI future leaders fellowships (FLF) expressed concern about the “current state and trajectory of UK higher education culture, and its ability to support world-class research”.
