UKRI downplays peer reviewer resignations over EDI letter

                       

Funder unaware of potential impact of mass quitting on grant timelines, but will “monitor” situation

UK Research and Innovation has downplayed the potential impact on its operations after scores of academics resigned from its peer review bodies.

Many academics have stood down from voluntary UKRI roles in protest against the funder’s response to a ministerial demand to shut down its equality, diversity and inclusion advisory group.
