UKRI to streamline research roles across its councils

               

“Project lead” and “grant manager” among new roles listed in UKRI’s Funding Service

National funder UK Research and Innovation is set to replace its “principal investigator” title as part of plans to create a simplified and more inclusive funding service.

Under the changes, the funder said it would consolidate a number of “functionally identical roles” which have different names across UKRI’s nine councils. When applying for funding, researchers will be presented with 12 different role types instead of 35.
