Cambridge, Imperial, Oxford and Liverpool formalise commitment to Fermilab

Four UK universities have committed to support an experiment at the United States Department of Energy’s Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (pictured).

In a deal signed on 24 January, the universities of Cambridge, Oxford, Liverpool and Imperial College London agreed to provide expertise to help Fermilab’s under-construction Matter-wave Atomic Gradiometer Interferometric Sensor (Magis-100). The sensor will assist with research into areas including quantum physics and dark matter.
