Raising finance and recruiting staff were cited as the main challenges to the growth of bioscience spinouts in the UK, according to a review from a research funding agency.
High levels of paperwork and regulatory issues were also named as barriers for early stage companies commercialising intellectual property, the study from the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) found.
