Jisc report identifies way to transform UK digital research infrastructure by being more federated

The UK should seize the opportunity to make its digital research infrastructure more collaborative and federated, according to a report by the higher education IT firm Jisc.

A federated approach to digital research infrastructure would pave the way for a “resilient, sustainable and inclusive” research sector, the report says. When organisations federate, they join together to form an over-arching alliance, with the most famous example in politics being the US government, it notes.
