Government officials played role in delaying damning announcement for science secretary until March, RPN understands

An investigation into accusations made by the science secretary Michelle Donelan about advisers to UK Research and Innovation was finalised by mid-December last year, Research Professional News has learnt.

RPN understands the core findings of the investigation, which fully exonerated the advisers in question, were reached even earlier, by the end of November. Despite this, the conclusion of the investigation was not announced until 5 March 2024.
