UK global health funder allows all projects to be led from LMICs

National Institute for Health and Care Research drops UK co-lead requirement in Global Health Programmes

The UK’s National Institute for Health and Care Research has announced that all of its global health projects can now be led by researchers in low- and middle-income countries.

Funders of international development and research in the global north have often been criticised for having stringent rules that result in research priorities not being set by groups in the global south.
