UKRI promises new social media guidance after Donelan row

Funder reveals pledge to “take greater care” despite investigation exonerating advisers over social media posts

The national funding agency UK Research and Innovation has told the science secretary Michelle Donelan it would update its guidance on social media use, following a row over its advisers’ social media posts.

This is despite an official investigation finding no evidence for claims Donelan had made about social media posts by UKRI advisers, who were fully exonerated.
