Scramble to lower fees

A total of 24 higher education institutions plan to lower their average fees to £7,500 in 2012-13, the Office for Fair Access has announced.

OFFA confirmed that the 24 HEIs, as well as three further education colleges, have applied to change their fee levels in order to bid for the 20,000 student places on offer to institutions charging £7,500 or less in annual tuition fees.
