HEFCE invests in precision farming

The Higher Education Funding Council for England is to invest £1.4 million in a national centre for precision farming at Harper Adams University College in Shropshire.

The funding is the first grant to be made from HEFCE’s Catalyst Fund, which opened in August. The council is investing around £45m per year from the fund into areas that address “key policy priorities” and to help universities adjust to lower levels of core funding from the government.
