UEL staff take action against increased workload

Staff at the University of East London are taking industrial action on 18 October over plans to increase staff workloads, according to the University and College Union.

The new policy would increase teaching, marking and assessment for lecturers, the 16 October statement says. According to a recent UCU survey, staff at UEL already have longer than average working hours—with 53.7 per cent of respondents reportedly working more than 50 hours a week.
