University College London and BBC R&D are to work together on a four-year research programme to advance communications technologies, internet research, user experience and access services.
The partnership will see the pair share facilities in a new joint space. There will also be a range of sponsored studentships available for doctorate level research, internships and student placements, as well as a staff exchange programme.
