Surrey v-c to become president of Universities UK

Christopher Snowden, vice-chancellor of the University of Surrey, has been elected president of the vice-chancellors’ umbrella group Universities UK.

Snowden, currently vice-president of UUK, will take up the job on 1 August 2013, replacing Eric Thomas, vice-chancellor of the University of Bristol. He will hold the post for two years.
