The number of undergraduate courses at UK universities has dropped by 27 per cent since 2006 to 51,116 this year, according to a University and College Union report.
The report, ‘Choice Cuts’, was published on 23 February. Within the UK, it finds that England—which will see the biggest rise in tuition fees—has suffered the biggest drop, 31 per cent. Scotland, in which home students will not have to pay raised fees, has seen the most modest cut, just 3 per cent.
