UK university applications down 7.3%

The number of university applicants in the UK is down 7.3 per cent on last year’s figures, according to February data from the university admissions service, UCAS.

The drop in numbers is especially high, 9.7 per cent, for applicants domiciled in England, where tuition fees are set to increase.
