University income continues to rise

UK universities’ income rose 3 per cent to £27.6 billion in 2010-11, according to the Higher Education Statistics Agency.

The data was released in the agency’s publication, ‘HE Finance Plus 2010/11’, published on 8 March. It shows that the total university income was up from £26.8bn in 2009-10. However, universities’ costs also rose 1.2 per cent to £26.2bn.
