CBI’s innovation chief moves to Russell Group

Tim Bradshaw, head of enterprise and innovation at the employers group the CBI, is joining the Russell Group of research-intensive universities as head of research and innovation policy, Research Fortnight Today has learned.

Bradshaw takes up the position on 1 October, after nearly 14 years at the CBI covering innovation, science & technology, and industrial policy.

This year, the Russell Group expanded its membership to 24 institutions by admitting the universities of Durham, Exeter, Queen Mary University of London and York.

The group also appointed David Eastwood, vice-chancellor of the University of Birmingham and former chief executive of the Higher Education Funding Council for England, as chairman.
