Tom Ward, professor of mathematics and deputy pro-vice chancellor at the University of East Anglia, has been appointed as the pro-vice chancellor of education at Durham University, it was announced on 4 September.
He will replace Anthony Forester, who is taking on the role of vice-chancellor at the University of Essex.
