London Met’s £2m fund to start payments this week

Money from the £2 million provided by universities minister David Willetts to help London Metropolitan University students affected by the visa row engulfing their institution will be available this week.

The money is to be granted to students facing “unexpected financial pressures”. This includes the difference in tuition fees for students having to transfer to other institutions, visa costs, some travel costs and one-off accommodation costs such as deposits that will not be refunded.
