Douglas Higgs has been appointed director of the University of Oxford’s Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine.
Higgs takes on the role from 1 October on the retirement of Andrew McMichael. Higgs will continue as director of the Medical Research Council’s Molecular Haematology Unit at the University of Oxford, which he joined in 1977.
