Shadbolt backs open access database

Researchers at higher education institutions could benefit from a database initiative that shares information about their facilities and equipment, according to the UK’s information and open data advisor Nigel Shadbolt.

Shadbolt, a professor of computer science at the University of Southampton, told Research Fortnight Today that better access to equipment would drive collaborations and allow researchers to write better grant applications.
