Universities should formalise the ‘green champion’ role into job descriptions, improve training and should do more to involve senior management in promoting green actions on campus, according to a report published on 26 September.
The report also recommends increased energy monitoring and reporting and the development of a method to check green activity. The work was commissioned by the Leadership Foundation for Higher Education and conducted by Adapt Commercial, a spin-out company owned by the University of East Anglia.
