Cambridge and Shell sign energy deal

The University of Cambridge has signed a deal with the energy company Shell, arguing the arrangement will help researchers make the energy industry more sustainable.

As part of the agreement, signed on 17 October, the two organisations will collaborate on research projects to make energy more affordable and environmentally sustainable, the university said in a statement.

A collaborative project about carbon capture and storage is already under way, giving the university access to data from one of Shell’s American drilling sites.
