Science accounts for 64 per cent of postgrad research

Statistics released by the Higher Education Statistics Agency show that 64 per cent of postgraduate research qualifications were awarded in science in 2011-12.

The 2011-12 HESA data also show that while more UK women achieved first degrees in science than UK men (a 7.6 per cent difference), more UK men than UK women achieved postgraduate degrees in science (an 11.2 per cent difference).
