International students contributed £120m to Sheffield’s coffers last year

International students will contribute up to £120 million to Sheffield’s economy in the year 2012-13, according to a report published on 4 March.

The study, carried out by Oxford Economics for the University of Sheffield, estimates the gross cost of international students to be £22.1m, meaning there is a net economic contribution of £97.9m to the city.
