The University of Central Lancashire has dropped its plans to become a company limited by guarantee.
Outgoing vice-chancellor Malcolm McVicar said in a statement that this status was still the “preferred option”, but that there were still “some concerns around the impact on staff terms and conditions, including pensions”.
McVicar said he was confident the change would be positive for the university as an organisation, but that the university’s status would only change if it was the “right choice for all parties" and did not result in "any increased costs to the university”.
