Dundee raises £3.5m for diabetes research

The University of Dundee has exceeded its £3-million fundraising target for supporting diabetes research.

Launched in 2007, the Diabetes Research Campaign has raised £3.5m in direct funding.
Funds from the campaign have supported improvements to the clinical research facilities at the Perth Royal Infirmary and the Ninewells Hospital and Medical School, and the creation of a Diabetes Translational Research Institute.

As a result of these investments, the university says it has secured an additional £11m in research grants.
