Urgent action needed on part-time students, warns Bakewell

Joan Bakewell, the president of Birkbeck, University of London, has urged the government to offer “unprecedented” support to universities to halt a drop in part-time students, the BBC reports.

In an article published on 8 April, the BBC says Bakewell intends to use her role at Birkbeck to exert pressure on government to support part-time higher education.
