HESA plans better use of data

Following a government call for better management of the UK's higher-education-related data, the Higher Education Statistics Agency has promised to revamp its approach.

HESA said that it was looking to develop a business case to identify the costs and benefits of improving its collection and dissemination of data and resources about higher education. It has been provided with funding to do so by the Higher Education Funding Council for England.

A subsequent transformation programme is expected to focus on student records and to enable the delivery of more timely data using future-proofed and flexible systems.
