A National Tissue Directory and Coordination Centre has been established with £900,000 of funding for 3 years. The centre will be led by University College London in collaboration with the University of Nottingham.
Christopher Birkett, the head of regulation at the Human Tissue Authority, said the launch meant that high quality tissue for research “had never been more accessible”.
The centre will receive its funding from UK Clinical Research Collaboration funders including the British Heart Foundation, Cancer Research UK, the Medical Research Council and the National Institute for Health Research.
