Bestselling economist joins LSE

The London School of Economics and Political Science has announced that the French economist and best-selling author Thomas Piketty has been appointed to a research and teaching position at the university.

According to a press release issued by the LSE on 14 May, Piketty has been appointed centennial professor at the university’s International Inequalities Institute, where he will collaborate on research and teach postgraduate students on a part-time basis. 

Piketty, who also holds professorships at the School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences, in Paris, and the Paris School of Economics, carried out studies for his PhD at the LSE.
