The University of Oxford has announced that it has managed to raise £2 billion in donations to fund financial support for students, research programmes and the construction of buildings and facilities.
In a press release on 12 May, the university said that the £2bn target had been reached in a record time for a European institution following the launch of the fundraising campaign in August 2004.
The ultimate objective is to raise £3bn.
