Phoenix wants support for translational research

The government should act quickly to create a source of grants to replace the European Union’s structural funds, the chairman of the MillionPlus group of post-1992 universities has said.

At a fringe meeting held on 3 October during the Conservative Party conference in Manchester, David Phoenix pressed the government to use the opportunity of the autumn budget, scheduled for 22 November, to establish a £100-million fund for translational research.
