Parliamentary science adviser leaves Westminster for UCL

Chris Tyler, head of the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology, is moving to University College London to take up the newly created role of deputy head in the Department of Science, Technology, Engineering and Public Policy (STEaPP).

In an interview published on UCL’s website on 8 June, Tyler said he would use his experience of working closely with MPs and peers at POST to find ways to improve how parliament uses evidence in making legislation.

STEaPP explores the relationships between scientific and engineering research and policymaking.
