Academics stand up for research on transgender issues

Dozens of researchers have defended their work on transgender issues, claiming that their academic freedom is under threat.

In a letter published in The Guardian on 16 October, 54 researchers from across the globe claim that academic analysis and discussion of transgenderism is being suppressed.

“Members of our group have experienced campus protests, calls for dismissal in the press, harassment, foiled plots to bring about dismissal, no-platforming, and attempts to censor academic research and publications,” the letter says.
