Cranfield University to create AI professorship

The aerospace and defence company BAE Systems is sponsoring a professorship in autonomous systems and artificial intelligence at Cranfield University.

The position, announced by the university on 3 October, will bring together research in unmanned aerial vehicles, space and AI.

Iain Gray, director of aerospace at the university, said: “This partnership with BAE Systems is the latest exciting development, and we are delighted to be working with them in an area that will be critically important to the defence and aerospace sectors over the coming years.”
