Cardiff University is reviewing its operations following a £17-million decrease in funding received from the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales (HEFCW) for the academic years 2017-18 and 2018-19.
A spokesperson for Cardiff University told HE that the institution was “financially stable but expenditure is growing more quickly than income”.
Cardiff was responding to a press report in a local paper suggesting that the drop in funding would lead to job cuts.
