Prominent King’s College London scientist Sebastien Ourselin is leading a bid to build a £110-million facility for artificial intelligence in medical imaging, he tells Cristina Gallardo.
From his ninth-floor London office overlooking St Thomas’ Hospital, just south of the river Thames, Sebastien Ourselin can see the site he hopes to transform into a medical technology hub.
To realise this hope, the head of the school of biomedical engineering and imaging sciences at King’s College London will need to be successful in a £16-million bid for capital funding from Research England. The outcome is due in spring 2019.
