Oxford staff stage pay gap protest

Staff at the University of Oxford have held a protest against the institution’s gender pay gap at an “unpaid women's non-working lunch”.

Organised by the University and College Union, the protest took place outside the university’s Clarendon building on 12 November and was attended by about 40 people, according to a UCU spokeswoman.

According to the union, the university’s average gender pay gap means that women at the university will be “effectively unpaid for the rest of the year” from 12 November.
