The UK government must not de-prioritise its links with the European Union in its push for a “global Britain”, the vice-chancellor of the University of Essex has warned.
In a letter addressed to science minister Sam Gyimah, Anthony Forster called on the government to nurture its links with the EU 27 countries now and after Brexit.
“Emotions around Brexit are running high, but we must not allow the government’s focus on creating a global Britain to be misunderstood,” he said in the letter, dated 15 November.
