The UK’s share of funding from Horizon 2020 has dropped over the past two years, despite the British government’s efforts to ensure Brexit does not hamper UK success in the European Union’s R&D programme.
Between the programme’s launch in December 2013 and September 2016, the UK had claimed 15.3 per cent of Horizon 2020 funding. But by 28 September this year, this had dropped by a percentage point to 14.3 per cent. The UK’s share of participations in the programme also dropped, from 13.3 per cent in September 2016 to 12.3 per cent in September this year.
