Universities net £40m from defence companies

UK universities have received tens of millions since 2015 to help develop next-generation military hardware, according to figures released through freedom of information requests.

Defence companies have handed around £40 million to 15 universities in the past three years, according to information obtained by The Guardian.

Boeing Defense, Space and Security, the second-largest defence company in the world, funds students at the University of Bristol to work on developing military drones, according to the newspaper.
