DeepMind creates AI professorship at UCL

Artificial intelligence firm DeepMind is creating a professorship of machine learning and AI at University College London, where two of its founders studied.

The professor will be based at the department of computer science and will have full academic freedom to set their own research agenda, UCL said on 20 September. The universities expects to fill the post by September 2019.

DeepMind will also support two postdoc research associates and one PhD student.
