LSE appoints Hix as pro-director for research

Political science lecturer Simon Hix has been named by the London School of Economics and Political Science as its pro-director for research.

Hix joins the school management committee from its department of government and school of public policy, where he has been academic director since 2017. He was inaugural Harold Laski professor in political science and head of the department from 2012 to 2015.

He will replace Julia Black, who will serve as an external member of the prudential regulation committee of the Bank of England, while remaining at the LSE.
