Cambridge academic Ian White has been named as the University of Bath’s next vice-chancellor after his predecessor stepped down following criticism over her pay.
White, who is a deputy vice-chancellor at the University of Cambridge and master of Jesus College, will start on a salary of £266,000—just over half of his predecessor’s salary—when he takes up his role in April 2019.
