Universities have been reminded to put in place contingency plans in case of a no-deal Brexit, after parliament rejected the government’s withdrawal agreement earlier this week.
Anne-May Janssen, head of European engagement at Universities UK International (UUKi), which represents the interests of UK universities abroad, said the organisation had a duty to help universities plan for the “worst-case scenario”.
She urged higher education institutions to identify staff from other European Union countries and talk to them about their concerns.
