The Open University has chosen Middlesex University London head Tim Blackman as its next vice-chancellor.

Blackman will start his new role on 1 October, the OU announced on 8 May. He will take over from Mary Kellett, who has been acting vice-chancellor of the OU since April 2018.

Blackman said it was “a tremendous honour and a privilege” to be appointed vice-chancellor of the OU.
